What we have are two repeated linear factors. Therefore, our partial fraction decomposition should be:

x/[(x + 1)^3 (x - 2)^2] =
A/(x + 1) + B/(x + 1)^2 + C/(x + 1)^3 + D/(x - 2) + E/(x - 2)^2
