no, a year ago the Core Duo processors came to market and a laptop with Pentium M at $1000 was considered cheap. technology made a leap in 2006 so the prices for these laptops dropped considerably.
it's simply the way of life.

Yikes, I have a 1.9 ghz laptop same ram ATI graphics card 200 wi fi expansion slots for SD, MMC, for $700. I bought mine 3 months ago. Ya paid a wee bit too much there dude, but seeing is how you bought that last year, the price you paid is understandable.

If you can do everything that you wanted to do with it, YES! Indeed it was a great purchase.
If you find yourself wishing you had more memory, battery life or problems running applications, NO it was not.
It is really not about the money, its all about if it does everything you want it to...
Then it is a bargain at any price.
(personally I think was a good deal)

if your hard drive is over 100 giga than the prise is ok. We have almost the same laptop ...mine has 80giga hdd and it costs 650€ (acer 1640)
