So, who thinks that Izzy is going to pay for the girl's spinal surgery, since this just happened the day she deposited her nearly 9 million dollar check??
She said she wanted to do good with the money, so why not pick up a few surgeries here and there that insurance companies won't cover? Hell, not only is she a doctor with no school loan debts, but what's 200 grand out of 8million 700 thousand dollars?
Opinions anyone?

Of course she is going to pay for the surgery but it is going to get Bailey to have her Psychiatrist added to the cast as Izzie must deal with her problem separating her personal and her professional life. Her paying for the surgery is sending the sign that she is still not able to treat her patients while distancing herself. Rumor has it that the psychiatrist will join the cast soon.

My initial thought was that she would pay for the surgery...but with that kind of money, why stop there? As Bailey said, by not depositing it, she's losing out on thousands of dollars in interest per day. She might go one step further and look into her own insurance company for underpriviledged families or experimental surgeries. When the girls mom said the surgery would cost $200,000 I thought...well, thats nothing to Izzy now. So if a once in a lifetime thing like that is $200K, a small portion of Izzy's 8.7 mil, then she could do a lot of good to a lot of people in similar situations. Just a thought! We'll see what happens.

She is going to get in so much trouble if she does pay for the surgery though. That would probably be breaking ten of the six thousand rules she has to follow as her probation.
How crazy is that she could pay for the surgery just with interest? That's a boatload of money.

I was assuming she was going to offer to pay for the surgery last night, but I guess she is thinking it over first. In next week's previews it looked like Bailey is yelling at Izzy about getting "personally involved" again.
But I agree with you, Izzy would find peace with the money situation if she could help benefit others in need.

Seems like Izzie will pay for it, after all she said tht she'd do good with the money so here is a chance.
Shes way to emotional with her patients , so this wont be such a surprise lol

That's the first thing I thought! SHe's going to pay for the surgery. Although I agree that she needs to stop getting personally involved with her patients.

I think you're right on! You know she is going to pay for that surgery! I was just in a panic that the check would never make it to the bank before it was ruined!!

I think that would be a good use of the money. In fact some of the interest on the money can be used.

I think that paying for the surgery will be GREAT!!!
I just LOVE that show!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really hope that George's father is ok... I think that family is great.
