Hey Dark
Below is some basic information about the latest flight simulation programmes.
I highly recommend the Microsoft Flight Simulation series, the graphic quality is amazing and with a new pc you shouldn't need any thing else new in order to play the game.
I have included some Amazon.co.uk links about the best flight simulation games, which will also give user reviews and prices to compare to:

For most flight simulation games using a jeyboard is fine, however can be hard and not very realistic. Many users wish to use a joystick. Below is a first rate joystick that make for excelent gaming, however one this expensive is not required. You can use much cheaper joystick or even game pads. I suggest you look around:

Microsoft has been producing Flight Simulator games for ages. You'll have to buy the joystick and pedals yourself though. They are excellent and as close to the real thing as you can get at home. The professional editions' even count towards your pilots licence! For a really great experience connect another couple of monitors either side of you for a great view out of the left and right views. Check out: http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulatorx/

Microsoft Flight Simulator is the best. It has been around forever and lots of people like it. You can buy almost everything that a real plane used as as seperate unit and hook it up to your computer (you don't need to do that but you can)
There are also lots of people that are quite serious about this game and support it on third party sites.

well,
Microsoft Flight Simulator is a great one,
and also there's a game called X-Plane, i dont know its latest version but that is too, realistic..
you can of course land and take off a plane, and you can do that with a joystick if you have, but if not, arrow keys and the keyboard will be enough, too.
