I am almost into my fifth month of pregnancy and have been trying to stop taking this drug for months now. Why is it so incredibly difficult, especially on my emotions? I take a maximum of 4 halves of a pill a day (a total of 2 pills) and struggle when it is any less then that. Without the medication, my body feels so irritable, weak, tired and I am irritated. Please help!

This sounds like an addiction. Vicodin is a highly addictive narcotic. You need to tell your OB/GYN immediately so they can help you through this. They may even want to admit you into the hospital so they can monitor your baby while you withdrawal.

Remember, what you take, goes to your BABY! Your baby could be born addicted and have to go through withdrawal.... which is tough on a little tiny body.

Talk openly to your Doctor, they won't judge you and they cannot help you if they do not know. You will be glad you did.

Many of your symptoms you list at the end are normal symptoms of pregnancy. They pass also, you have good days and bad days.

Best of luck to you for a healthy you and a healthy baby. Please don't wait to get help.

Vicodin is a narcotic so that's why it is so hard for you to quit taking them, but if you think about it. You are pregnant and unless you want your baby born with extreme problems then it would be best for you to flush the pills down the toliet or give them to someone who will keep them away from you. You need to quit these now. The reason that it is so difficult is becuase you are addicted to them and your body craves them with the emotions you are going through withdrawl. Please go to the doctor and let them know about your addiction so they can help you before there are extreme problems with the baby.

You are addicted. You probably need to go to rehab. I had a pill addiction as well, but quit when I got pregnant. Narcotics are not good for the baby, and you should stop taking them to prevent birth defects and developmental disorders. My advice is to see your doctor and he may have you taper off of the Vicodin in order to avoid problems.

Vicodin is a STRONG painkiller. You may be addicted to them. You may need professional help, seriously. It could not possibly be all that well to be taking them during pregnacy anyways. You should really consult a mental health professional, they usually help with subtance abuse issues.
