I hope that people are aware that I avoided puntuation to prove my point! It is lazy - it may be quicker but in fact, it's far less effective.

On the face of it, these sort of complaints can seem pedantic, but I agree with you and it annoys the hell out of me. Some years ago I was stupid enough to subject myself to the reading of James Joyce's Ulysses. One chapter of that book is written entirely without punctuation. Maybe some arty-farty types regard it as magnificent but to me it was quite literally pointless.

Unfortunately this is the way things are going today. Everything must be done in the fastest and shortest way, regardless of quality. In 20 years time no one will be able to read what I've just written because TextSpeak will be the foundation of the English language.

Yes, it is annoying. I think it is lack of education. I know for a fact that my 14 year old sister would probably not know when and when not to use it. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
I think the correct use of the English language is getting lost in society. I mean people these days are applying for jobs using things like the no. 2, and 'U' etc and shortening their words like you do on texts. I think there are going to be some big changes in grammer and puctuation very soon....

this annoys me endlessly as reading these posts always means having to think about their sentences it is almost like a puzzle which could also be deemed amusing in some instances i can only presume that these people think its big and clever as there are famous artists and authors who did the same thing anybody remember ulysses from james joyce maybe those who are unsure of the rules of punctuation think this is the best way to disguise their lingual disability if joyce can do it we can do it too no really i hate it!!!

Because punctuation involves using the "shift" keys, most people may have learned how to type, but did not learn to use punctuation keys,or number keys; (or) a person who can not type, without taking their hands off the keyboard, (to use punctuations and number keys) ,will either stop typing to search for them,or not use them at all.

Some people dont know what all punctuations mean , and some dont want to take the time to fool with it .

Because to some people, the choice between punctuation marks can become very confusing.

Yes, I quite understand! I get really annoyed by capital letters not being used for the beginning of sentences, or for proper nouns etc. What really gets up my nose though, is the complete misuse of apostrophe's (like that!!).

There are idiots around the political spectrum who try this, no longer purely leftists. the only time I chide people who misspell is whilst they gain this collectively as calling others idiots. as an occasion, if somebody writes "Bush is a moran, " i will show out the delicious irony entailed in one among these proclamation.

I believe because they were too lazy to learnt it at school. As they got older they found it difficult and more embarrassing to admit they didn't didn't understand how to use it properly.
Pet hate of mine. Along with bad English. don't think the schools are as disciplined with it either....
