I don't quite understand your question. Are you saying that in the work environment we don't show our true selves; that our true feelings remain hidden and that our actions are based on this?
I think very often that the work place is based on animality, greed and anger so that we hide our true nature for fear of what.....?

because every person is different. look at every person like a pair of tinted glasses. no one vision or color is the same. it is becuase no one persons thoughts on everything are identical and therefore everyone will react diffrently to situations and thusly cliques and emotions will surface because those who react similar to one another will flock together for similarity and it will create an ease between peopel becuase they think similarly.
