Given that their relationship is vulnerable to outside accusations of infidelity, can you see anything about the relationship that might render it a bit shaky from the start?

THANK YOU!

I'm not crazy about your thesis. One of the problems with Shakspearean analysis is that people become enamored of off-the-beaten-track hypotheses that really aren't borne out by the texts themselves.

Take the long view. If this play is to succeed as a whole, the relationship between Othello and Desdemona must be one of true and surpassing LOVE. If it isn't, then we really aren't dealing with a classical tragedy of major proportions.

The relationship is one vulnerable to ONE outside accusation, and that's Iago's. He succeeds in undermining Othello's trust of Desdemona, yes...but, that's because Iago is absolutely BRILLIANT at what he does.

Othello says: "She loved me for the dangers I had passed, and I loved her that she did pity them. This only is the witchcraft I have used." That's really all there is to it.

Othello explains it for himself. Check out Act 1, scene 3 for Othello's explanation while they wait for Desdemona to arrive at court.

Well yes they do but computers are silly and fickle and they soon forget that their was even another computer involved in their lives. As soon as you get them home they fall for the television or the sterio or the coffee maker - whatever they like best. And if their new love interest happens to go for some reason? No problem, like I;ve said - computers are fickle. They just move onto the next thing. I guess you could call them the sluts of machinery. So don't worry, they dont have their hearts broken. I hope that helps in making you feel better about possibly buying a new computer. xXx
