The University of Phoenix is a For Profit school. They recently paid a $9.8 million fine for shady employment practices and are currently under investigation for inflating their placement numbers.

You would have to ask the registrar at UConn if they accept their credits. However, I can tell you that very few employers will be imprssed with someone with an on-line degree -- especially from U of P.

Check out www.davenport.edu , that's Davenport University and they have both online and inseat classes. This is more accepted because it is a more traditional degree. You register for classes each semester and take the amount of classes you feel you can handle with your schedule. In contrast at UofP you take one class at a time in a track.

The problem with University of Phoenix is that it is not very well respected. I had a friend who went there and applied for a job while going to school. He was asked "would you consider getting your degree from another school?"

I've seen a lot of people who have graduated from UofP and not be able to get better jobs.

U Phoenix doesn't have the best rep with employers. But if your main concern is if the credits will transfer to UConn, your best bet is to call the UConn admissions office and discuss it with them directly.

Any 'degree' from the University of Phoenix is worthless in the academic world....as are all degrees from 'institutions of higher learning' who advertise on TV for students. It IS possible to get a worthwhile degree on-line ... but not from the "University of Phoenix"
