Obviously the question is not about the taste that is sweet.
Sweet in general expression denotes something pleasant, lovable, compatible, rounded without sharp corners, medium without extremities, neither dull nor too exciting etc. etc. Having said all these, I get a feeling that we call something sweet when it is not perfect to the core and yet very pleasing and likable.
