Left click is the normal way of activating a button or a link and selecting an icon or other item - ie it is the default control.
You need to double click on some controls (e.g. desktop icons) because the first click selects them and the second activates them. This is simply to distinguish between selection of a desktop icon (you might want to move it or delete it rather than activate it) and its activation.
Right click is a different process altogether - it is used as a shortcut to a set of options that you typically have available by selecting an item and then going to the menu at the top of the screen. Right clicking is simply a faster and more convenient way of accessing those menu items.
If it confuses you and until you get used to it, avoid right clicking altogether. The functions should always be available by some other route using the left click button.
For example, in a typical word processor, if you use the left mouse key to highlight a word (click and hold at one end of the word and drag the cursor to the other end before letting go) you can then right click on that word and select "copy" and "paste". However, if you look at the top of the screen, you should also have an "Edit" button or menu item that will also allow you to "copy" and "paste" using the left key.
I hope this helps - good luck.

Robin puts it beautifully, or, as an old buddy of mine used to say "If one click don't do it, two will!"
Ps Welcome aboard, we're always glad to help people who ask sensible questions in English. Can't guarantee the answers will always be sensible, though!
