Fiscally they seem like peas in a pod. They both seem to like to spend money like drunken sailors.

I do agree that fundamentalists and leftists all want to impose MANY restrictions upon people's lives and limit personal liberties, but concerning your point in Christian conservatives "tax poor to fatten rich", well, thats just not true. Now I'm not sure how much you know to differentiate between the christian right and simply conservatives, but conservatives want to lower taxes for all, christian fundies want to impose christian legislation upon people, and fundamentalist christian legislation at that. But nonetheless, yes, the radical right and really the left in general are both threatening to personal freedoms

I am a Christian Conservative. You can watch what you want, Smoke all you want, sleep with anyone you want. Let your girlfriend smoke a cigarette and read a book while your having sex if she wants! Just quit telling me to stop praying in public if I want, and that the Cross offends you. That's whining! I find gay men kissing in public Gross and offensive, so I won't watch. But that is okay in today's America when a Cross at a soldiers Memorial in California is too offensive and the ACLU wants it removed? That's whining
As for taxing the rich, no more than they do now. I have a novel idea though. How about making the people that want welfare have to work for it. That would be fun to watch.

Actually, you've mischaracterized quite a bit.
Christian conservatives actually do not care who has sex with who, what people choose to worship, and most certainly do NOT believe in higher taxes for anybody.
So, your premise is based on pretty flawed beliefs.

Good points you make. The trend with these folks is that they don't want to leave people alone.

Ya know, sport, the notion of promoting good health isn't new, and certainly not limited to prudes, as your query would seem to suggest.
