The age old question. I suppose it depends upon your definiton of existence. For some it's a Heaven, for some you're worm food, for some you have a chance at reincarnation. Einstein I think put it best. We, and everything on the planet are comprised of matter. Matter is energy, and it doesn't simply cease to be. There is existence after death in the sense that the energy we were comprised of continues. Whether or not our consciousness can be considered matter is a different question. There is a quote, Einstein I think that says 'imagination is more important than knowledge.' Which I think means that everything is not quantifiable, and that some things are greater than the sum of its parts. Whatever belief helps you to live your life better, I say go for it.

I do.
I believe we are all spirit. Right now we are spirit living in a physical body, and when that body dies we go back home to where we came from, which i believe is the spirit world. I've seen too much evidence passed on from spirit via mediums to think otherwise. Alot of people think mediums are fake, and sadly alot are, as with any area in life you get fakes. I've been lucky to witness many readings with wonderful evidence of who the spirit is, with the medium passing on lots of detailed personal information only the sitter (the person having the reading) would know. If you research this you could find many spirit teachings and information about the spirit world which spirit has channeled through a medium. Its a very fascinating subject!

Only the illogical, foolhardy and scared believe in anything of the sort. Religion stems from a time when man knew nothing about himself nor anything around him. It was a "quick-fix" of easy answers to impossible questions (the same way traditional tribes in some parts of the world will still see an eclipse and think their sun-god is angry and must be appeased). It gave something to those scared by the uncertainty by making up a nice little story to lead people to a sense of certainty.

Later it became a method of obtaining control over the masses through fear. Do this right or face eternal agony, do that wrong and God will strike you down etc etc.

We are created by chemical reaction and the meaning of life is procreation and survival of the species as the dominant lifeforce on the planet, nothing else.

How people can pin their hopes and beliefs totally on the heresay of a book that was written by many different people at many different stages in history without questioning it is beyond me. I believe the next step of human evolution would be the abolition of religion that allows us to open our minds to the realities of the universe and existence and ask the questions that we currently do not even see through the fog of beliefs, and at that point we MIGHT stop bombing hell out of each other becuase "They believe a ridiculous story about 72 Virgins waiting in heaven instead of OUR ridiculous story about a virgin giving birth to the son of God totally out the blue without her husband being even slightly peturbed by it"

I'm undecided. It would seem that, according to those who have undergone a "near-death experience", there is a possibility of undergoing a "life review" at some point after death, some people even claim to have seen "heaven".But there are also psychiatrists and other medical professionals who say that these experiences are due to other factors, such as a lack of oxygen going to the brain.

No, it is just like someone switching a light off. there is NOTHING. How could it be otherwise?

Apparently dogs, cats , horses etc do not have an afterlife so why should we be any different...?

The afterlife was only invented to give people hope- Hope that a life of unrelenting agricultural toil would have a reward at the end.

It's all nonsense.

I believe that in billions of years the universe will collapse and that all matter will be compressed into a singularity. The matter that was once you and I will then start out all over agian with the next big bang. Wings and a harp? No way.

Yes, there are two places, Heaven and Hell.

Heaven was meant for all people, but eventually sin came in and separated us from God and his beautiful place for us. So he gave us a second choice, to fallow his son who died on the cross. To believe he it God's Son and ask him to be the Ruler of you're life. Then and only then will you have a way to Heaven, but if you don't mean becoming a christian, God will know and won't allow it.

Hell is an awful place, it was really meant for the deceiver and prince of lies and deist, Satan.
However he deceived our world into believe that we didn't need God. So sadly we chose to die forever in Hell. Hell is for the non-Christians, the ones who believe that they have no need what-so-ever for God or his Son. Sadly God had no choice, but to lock us away, in the end, forever and eternally in Hell.

Those are the places after life. And it's you're and the help of the Spirit to choose which one is for you.

No question, we're not bodies we are spiritual beings who "have" bodies. Let's face it materialism (the minority) has only been around 100 years or so, and they are so desperate to convince the *majority* that we're just meat bodies. Pathetic really.

Only kind of people I really don't like -- those who think they are soulless.

As a Pagan it is my belief that after I "die" I will go to the Summerlands and reflect on the life I have just lived and the lessons that it taught me. I will then rest, until I decide to come back as someone or something else.
