You need to replace the x with 4. So the equation becomes -
-(4*2) + (3*4) - 1
which gives
-8 + 12 - 1
The answer is 3

i don't want to just give you the answer. just substitute four for all the x's. for the first one it would be -2(4)= -8 (i just rearranged the order of the variables, usually the coefficient comes first)
when you've replaced all teh x's, just add everything together, and make sure you don't leave anything out!

One doesn't wish to be rude but would it not be better to try and understand this problem yourself? After all, you cannot be certain that the answer you get is correct. Or, more to the point, understand how the answer is achieved.
