Me and my partner are going on March for 3 days but have no idea how much to take - has anyone been and be able to give me a rough idea how much I would need to cover food for 3 daYs and taxi's from the air port and back.

Transfer from airport is about £20, 200 marlboro about £20.

Everyone else has answered below but do remember to only use taxis with the prices displayed on the side or ones called by your hotel - they can really rip you off otherwise!

Also don;'t change money on street (obvious I suppose) or in booths on the street as they can rip you off. Watch for pickpockets. Thats it!
www.virtualtourist.com is great for tips on where to go.

www.pragueexperience.com do a great4 hour walking tour for £11 - it shows you the sights you may have missed.

Have fun - I'm off there in three weeks!

Hello, me and my boyfriend got back from a 4 day break in Prague midnight last night and we had a lovely time. We ate breakfast in the hotel but ate out for all other meals. The average price for a evening meal for 2 of us having 2 courses and a couple of drinks each was under £20 and the food was good and plentiful wherever we ate out. Beer for 1/2 a litre (large glass) was between 70p and £1.50 and soft drinks 50p - 70p, imported spirits in bars and restaurants were similar prices to England.
Public transport is cheap and very regular we used trams, buses and the metro with no problems. You can get tickets in the stations, from hotel receptions and papershops amongst other places and an all day ticket was £2 to use on all transport or individual tickets for 50p that you can use for 75 mins on any transport and changes as often as you wish. We even got on the bus from the airport the 119 they run every 10 minutes and stopped just 5 minutes walk from out hotel. Taxis we heard were expensive and they tend to make up there own prices but there are plenty available at the airport.
I hope you have a fab time xxx

Taxi from airport around 30 dollars one way. Food and beer for 3 days in the center 150 dollars per person, in the suburbs 50 dollars. Prague is very cheap consider buying a 3 day public transportation ticket on any metro station or at the airport. It costs around 5 dollars and covers also you trip from the airport (bus+metro) both ways thus saving 30 dollars each way.

The metro ticket pays itself by taking 3-7 stops (5 to 20min) out of center to eat they have beautiful restaurants with much lower prices. Top Example a 0,5 l beer in the center 5 dollars in a suburb pivoar (=PUB) 1 dollar quality is the same top lager. Top wood owen pizza in center 10 dollars in suburb 4 dollars and so on.

One more hint, chance your money to local korunas or use ATMs which are plenty and pay with it dollar and euro rates in shops and especially taxes are not good.
