So long as you know how to use metaphors ( 'are' and 'is') and what they are, then the choice is endless. E.g.:

You are a lion on the football field.
Your kite is an eagle in the sky.
A red rose is love to me.
His smile is a wide banana.

See? I just made them up.

just so you know.... a metaphor is a comparison without using like or as. i know your probably know this already, but i'm just saying it agian. :)

this is a pretty strange assignment.

The elephant was a light-footed mountain?
The cauliflower was a fluffy cloud, or the cloud was cauliflower??
The apple was a heart, and chunks were being gouged out of it.

this is the weirdest assignment i think i have ever seen.

In the superstore, fruits are usually chosen much too soon. Some are rocks, many are wrong. Some of the fresh vegetables are typical right (zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, greens, and a few others) so I'd have to go with vegetables.
