my appologies to those pointing out the sexual harrasment reporting.this was done on several occasions by myself to two different mannagers but because the said person is a long time employee and most except his behaviour i was told oh thats just his way.sorry that is not exceptable to me.if the boot was on the other foot and i was touching a womens backside i would of been sacked on the spot.like i said i warned him more than once i told my managers. what was i supposed to do after i have followed the said route .i also told my union rep to tell him if he does it again he will get decked. and had the same sort of response i got from my managers.

Yes, as you can tell from the responses to your question, they have become the great untouchables. (no pun intended). Your Human Resources dept. probably felt intimidated as well. It is obviously far worse (down right disturbing), to be touched by someone of the same sex, when you are straight, than someone of the opposite sex.
Would 'nanoosha' say the same if a man was touching a women? Of course she wouldn't. Having read the other answers on this site, God, what a sensible lot. Emotion comes into this, particularly when he has been warned. 'Ecky boy'. It is highly offensive for a man to touch another man. There is nothing wrong with being PARTICULARLY offended by being touched inappropriately by someone of the same sex.

I have been in similar situations and I fully undersatnd where you are coming from. The fact is though, you can't hit people for that sort of thing especially at work and if you do you have to expect the sack. I guess I think thats right too. I know it's bad because you feel like this **** can do what ever he wants to you and your just supposed to take it, and you warned him enough times, but we can't have a situation in the country where it's okay to assault people "as long as they deserved it". There are proper ways of dealing with these things. I hope you don't get sacked, good luck.

You should have followed your "chain of command" at work or at least followed the guidelines for sexual harrassment in your workplace. You can't take a situation of this extreme level into your own hands and expect your boss to be ok with it. Afterall, you did break the man's nose! YOu will be lucky if fired is all you get. I mean this guy or your boss could have charges pressed against you.

Because instead of handling things like a man, you resorted to violence like a high school bully. All you had to do was lodge a sexual harassment complaint and he would have been on his way out, if it is true.
Frankly, my guess is you simply made up an excuse to attack another human being believing that somehow that is your right.
Not only should you lose your job, you should lose your freedom. I don't want to live in a world where people like you cannot control themselves and who seem oblivious to a civilized response set in place by most companies.

Because, as an adult, you should have followed your company's grievance procedures and filed a sexual harrassment claim instead of punching him.
My take on your behavior is that having a gay person brush past your "a s s" threatened your fragile sense of masculinity, so you felt the need to prove to him, yourself, and everyone else what a big man you are through an act of violence.
Pathetic.

If he was behaving like you say, then he should have been disciplined for sexual harrasment.
However, your reaction was plainly extreme, highly-unprofessional, outright violent and utterly inexcusable. The behaviour of both of you is of concern, quite frankly, if what you have reported here is acurate, I am surprised that you both weren't fired.
Get some training on homophobia and anger management, then if it ever happens again document his behaviour and report it appropriately so that he gets done for sexual harrasment, and you can get on with your life.

Surely in todays world you know that there are routes to go down first. Everything has to be reported and written up in a triplicate of triplicates, department heads have to be notified etc etc.
Yes, most people have probably got someone at work they'd like to smack about, but you just can't anymore.

If he was in fact sexually harassing you and it's not just your hate filled imagination, then you both deserve to lose your jobs. However, you also deserve jail time for being a violent offender.
And if charges are laid against you and you're convicted, you'll find that in jail there will be more than just "brushes passing your a s s".

Because when your at work, you have to follow proper procedures and YOU DIDN'T.
You should have told your supervisor and let them handle it, but you didn't so your paying the price, which is how it should be. There is a chain of command in place for a reason, use it. Personally, I hope you lose your job. Next time, you'll know what to do.
