Does your employer have a short term or long term disability insurance program?
That's where I received like 2/3 of my normal paycheck when I had surgery a few yrs ago.
Other than that, is your illness terminal or just something that will pass with time? Just saying you have an illness is vague to us folk trying to answer your question.
Be more specific.

Apart from statutory sick pay, you may be able to get housing benifit and possibly a emergancy loan if your in the sh1t but apart from that. Nothing,

Get in touch with the local DWP (DSS or Jobcentreplus) nearest to you. They will be the best people to give you the right information.
