seriously ... I am a dog person ... and best dog I EVER had was a standard poodle .... though my coonhound/great dane mix i have now comes close!
I also love cats, and rodents, and guinnea pigs .....
and goats.....

It all depends on your lifestyle,your surroundings, and what kind of time you have on your hands.Dogs are my favorite. I own 3 pit bulls and they are my babies,but They take a lot of time and patients and I only work part-time so I can take care of them properly. Please do not get a pet you are not ready for. Take the time to figure out what kind of companionship you want. Also your environment is very important. My dogs need to run and go for long walks. But yet are very much house dogs. What I hate to see the most are animals chained up outside day after day,that's like saying "Hey look I have a dog ain't he pretty? They are not trophies,they are as real as you and I. Visit pet stores,a lot of them have sitting rooms where you can spend time with a perspective pet. Good luck on your search.

It depends, a dog could be good if you have a lot of time to spend or a cat depends on your likes.
A small animal is good for people who don't have full time to spend with their pets. Search on google for different pets and see which one you like.
PS I dont count fish as pets

A fur real friend. When the kids get tired of it you can just turn it off. No really, my favorite are cats. I love bob tailed cats. No real reason why. They are just my favorite. I have two that sleep with me almost every night unless they are in the kids beds, which is rarely.

Had many many differnet pets.. and have to say my favorite ones were my daughter guinea pigs. They were so vocal and cute. Loved their piggy noises and whistling and seeing how excited they would get when they heard our voices or saw anyone coming near their cage.
