I've looked this up on the internet and learned that it wasn't good if your baby beardie is sleeping all of the time. However, we can't seem to figure out why. He is a month old or younger (we are not sure but he is really tiny), he eats about 10 crickets a day, eats his greens all day as well, the tank is properly heated (103 degrees on the hot side and 85 degrees on the cool side), we mist him three or four times a day, and the bulb is UVA/UVB. We are going to take him to the vet if we have to but we just wanted to see if anyone might have any insight? Another note, the cashier at PetCo dropped the box he was in when we bought him, and the box fell from about 4 feet.....this was yesturday.

hi there
babies do sleep a bit more then the adults but most likely it's from the fall get him checked out by a vet and if it is damage from the pet store bring the vet report, vet bill and bill of sale back to petco and demand see the manager... tell the manager that u want ur money back from the vet and a new beardie..do to the cashier drops the poor thing...next time try to find a breeder they are cheaper and more healthier..i know that most pet stores give a health guaranty and most breeders do as well...
breeder or beardies and other reptiles....
good luck on ur beardie

You have only had him 1 day. The change in environment can cause this. How tiny is he? They should not even be sold if they are too young. No reputable place should sell them if they are under 4 inches head to tail. What size crickets are you feeing him? If they are too big..this is dangerous. He would need to only have pinhead crickets now.

If I took a fall like that, I would think that I would have some internal bleeding going on. You know, they are small, and like anything small- is more fragile.

Shame on the PetCo employee. They should be fired- for dropping a helpless animal. Total ignorance and disrespect for handling a animal. ASSHOLE!

You are feeding him way too many crickets for one thing it is suppose to be a treat not their everyday food. Take him to the vet most beardys only sleep at night.
