So far, I have found vinegar to work pretty well with a plunger, but it keeps re-clogging. Are there any plumbers out there with a little mercy?

I have been happy with an enzymatic drain cleaner that I got at a local Home Depot type of store. It is safe to use anywhere and is also good for slow drains. It contains no chemicals, but uses the same kind of bacterical action that makes a septic tank work.

If there is a cleanout plug in the line under the toilet, you can use a snake. If so, use the snake down, as you normally would, but also go up as far as you can. Turn the snake as you are pushing it so it has a better chance of turning corners.

If all else fails, you can remove the entire toilet assembly and snake down from the floor flange. Then again, there may be something stuck in the trap that is built into all toilets. A toy or a comb, for example.

Rent a toilet auger and run it through a few times. If your not having problems with any other drains, that should take care of it.

You may need to unscrew your clean-out plug and take a gander.
