Jimmy Carter, I've always thought he was punished for being to honest as president. What he's done after his presidency has been remarkable.

As for people currently in office I would have to go with John Edwards.

John McCain has been my favorite politician since the 1990's.
As for a Democrat I'd have to say Lieberman. I know he is an Independent now but we all know where his roots lay. As a man and not a politician Jimmy Carter is a great.

John Kerry, I think he understand the Iraq problem better than anyone I have heard. He said their problem is they are not motivated, which is so true. A significant number of Iraqis support terrorism, makes it hard to ever win there.

Repub. Congressman Doug Lamborn, who actually believes in smaller government and freedom. He may be the only Republican who does, as the rest of them are Socialist but not willing to pay for the huge govt they created. At least Democrates will get out tax rates up in the 50% range to pay for a government that makes up that much of our economy.

Unfortunately, there are no favorites in either party. It appears that gifted people do not seek public office and so we are left with mediocrities. Gone are the days of the Evert Dirksen, Hubert Humphrey, Barry Goldwater or JFK.
Seems that they all had had a charisma bypass now a days.
Say what you will about Clinton he was the last of the charismatics.
