There is currently no evidence to support anyone who claims that curses/spells/voodoo exists...

There are several reasons for my claim:

1) Our senses can easily be fooled (ask any magician)

2) We are influenced by pre-existing ideas when observing an event

3) Many have a difficult time distinguishing between correlation (two unrelated events coinciding) and causation (one event influencing another)

4) We rarely have all of the evidence available and can make rash decisions immediately after an event/experience

5) Many feel that if THEY cannot explain something, it is inexplicable

6) We love a good story

I could go on, but this should be more than sufficient to get my point across...

We humans can error; it is actually quite normal to be mistaken at times; and we have some beliefs that we WANT to be true so badly, we will fool ourselves into accepting the illusion in the face of contrary evidence.

You will read stories here (and elsewhere) concerning strange experiences that people have, and though I am certain that these people have experienced "something", I can tell you that it is far more likely that they have misinterpreted the events and/or causes than it actually being a supernatural event ("believing" in something is personal, but when you claim an identifiable result (spellcasting, for instance), you have to prove it).

The burden of proof lies with those that claim magic exists, if they cannot supply the supporting evidence then we have no reason to believe them (and the best part is that we don't waste resourses to appeal to the claim).

Finally, all would-be spellcasters now can not only prove that they can cast spells, they can get one million dollars to boot! just use the last link to James Randi's site (still unclaimed in over 10 years!)

So there it is to everyone who CLAIMS to be able to cast spells; in all seriousness, and with possibly the best vindication anyone can have:

You win the million dollars, good for you, I will be among the first to congratulate you and we will all know you can cast spells. If you don't win it, you are mistaken in your ability and will hopefully accept that and move on -- It is really that simple.

yes curses and spells really exist. people have believed in them for thousands of years... and wiccans, pagans and any magical practicioner will tell you that there is a fundamental rule of 3. What you do will always come back to you times 3. The thing with removing is did you do something wrong to someone and how can you make amends or did they do this for their own gain...those are the question you need answered before you can go removing them. but most of all with hexes and curses you do give them power. A curse is simply a set of words that have been empowered with ‘negative’ energy. In any case, paying a fee to remove a curse will have very little effect on changing your luck or making you well again! Why? because the curse is working on an energetic level gaining access through your fears and negative beliefs

They do exist, but I would have to agree that believing in them would only aid their power, but none the less, ignoring it won't solve the problem.

Never trust a christian when it comes to these matters. They give the stupidest answers that never get anything acomplished.

Let's think about it this way. What did they use to hex you? Magic! So what do you think you'll have to do to remove the hex? Magic...a simple protection spell may do the trick. I'm sure you can find one that's just an incantation, so no insence or candles required. Or maybe a reversal spell. The simplest answer would be to meditate and try to remove all negative energies from your proximity.

Also, the ladies online never help. They just want your money.

Yeah, If you believe YOU can. It's a very old practice. There's no "Rule of Three", that's very new on the magical scene. Really, what you do attracts like is where it comes from. That's why banishing is important. :P If you have a curse or hex on you, I've heard "Uncrossing" Might be very useful. You'd have to buy a kit or make the stuff yourself, mind.

To CaveDonkey:

Lol! You've obviously never studied it to know what magic is for and what it can or cannot do. Read a few non-New Age books though, mind. ;) But then again, if you believe you believe, you don't you don't, or you know you KNOW.

Voodoo does exist, although it's not systematically the black magic everyone believes it is.

Spells and curses exist too, but I guess you have to experience a spell or a curse to really believe it. There are many ways to get a curse removed but it depends on the curse. The safest way I know is to go get a blessing from a priest. I know it sounds very Exorcist-ish, but it works.

They exist as much as positive "spells" exist. The power of Speech is greater than people think. On the other hand though, if that happens to you, it is because you have allowed it to happen to you, even subconsciously. What you can do to protect yourself is keep absolute distance from any negative people, movies and activities and focus on the good on people. Try also visualizing yourself being inside a golden sphere of light that only allows positive energies to be be attracted towards you.

curses and spells really exist, yes.
whether they work or not depends upon the perception of the caster, and the perception of the occursed, of course.

one way to rise above them would be a higher belief in yourself.
if you believe you are stronger than the caster, you shall prevail
(if youre in the right, of course, but, if you are doing wrong, you should be held accountable for your actions and take the "corrective measures" as a way to better yourself!).

there are no such things as curses! that`s for sure! but when u hear that you`ve been cursed or something u panic. u keep thinking what will happen to u and naturally expect bad things. and then it gets real. your mind keeps worrying about the bad things that are about to happen. that affects your so called aura which is nothing but your soul and it on the other hand is pure energy. it gets sick. the aura changes. it gets vulnarable to everithing around u. and because u expect bad things it attracts them. all of them. and the "curse" works!
so stop thinking negattive. think of all the good things that happen to u. i`m sure there`s a lot of them. think positive. and don`t even dare to think that there`s a curse. remember - it`s all in your head.
as for the 'ladies online' - telling u that u`ve been cursed is their commercial. it`s all about sell. they sell u confidence. and that`s worth a lot.

They sometimes work because the subconcious mind of the person that the spell or curse is placed on (if the person knows about it) believes it will work.
