Snails are hermaphrodite meaning that they are both male and female. You still need two to breed but both become pregnant.
Asexual is when there is an absence of sex and are neither male or female. An asexual can breed with out a partner. This is the case with some stick insects.

Yes, snails are hermaphroditic (possess both male and female parts). They do require mating with a partner in order to be come pregnant though, as opposed to asexual, which is where the animal can reproduce without mating.
