This is the first time that CR has been made into a movie on the first Bond book ever written. The spoof made in the '60s was nothing to do with Ian Fleming's novel. But there was a radio play of CR broadcast in the '50s.

First the book. Then in the 70's I believe there was a spoof, a comedy called Casino Royale that was about James Bond but not really a Bond film. David Niven, Peter Sellers and others were in it.

There was a previous Casino ... but it was a comedy spoof
Casino Royale [1967] by Peter Sellers, David Niven, Ursula Andress, and Joanna Pettet .
This version is a adaptation of the book, not really based on the previous film so you could class this a remake (a more serious adaptation)

People apparently don't understand what a "remake" is. No, "Casino Royale" is not a remake of the 1967 spoof of the same title. A movie that shares a title, and even a character, does not a remake make.

There was a film with David Niven called Casin royale which was a take off of James Bond . I am not certain if Peter Sellars was in it as well.

Technically it is but as the first Casino Royale was a spoof and not part of the Bond franchise in a way you could say it isn't.
