Instead of treating the symptoms, have you tried to discover the source of the problem? Have you tried eliminating dairy from her diet? (Switching to soy formula or, if breastfeeding, removing dairy from mom's diet?) Dairy can cause eczema for some babies.

Few baths and no hot water, that dries your skin. Also mild soaps and detergents with no fragrance. Keep skin moisturized and keep up the hydrocortisone for itching, but you can't use that all the time b/c the body absorbs it. My pediatrician recommended a lotion called DML lotion that you get at Walmart pharmacy. It is OTC but you have to ask for it. They may have to order it, but it works. Do you have pets? I think pet dander and other allergens make it worse also. Has she been allergy tested? I hope this helps. My daughter's gets worse when she is sick. It is some kind of immune response. Try a hypo-allerginic formula-Nutramagin or Allumentum (unsure of spelling). They are expensive, but if it works, hey..... Have they tried steroids? They should help too.

What kind of laundry soap are you using to wash her clothes? If it is the same thing you use to wash yours, it may very well that it is causing a reaction and you need to wash hers in a product called Dreft. It is great for babies who have skin rashes. Start by washing her clothes in this and see what happens. If she reacts to that, try washing her clothes in hot water(change temperature with colors to warm) with a cup of vinegar and a cup of baking soda added to the water. That is the most natural way to wash clothes and get them deodorized at the same time. If the rash is around the diaper area, change the brand of diaper. If she also has a rash that will not clear up on her bottom, it may be the type of formula she is on and you may have to change that. Make sure you make one change one at a time and not all at once. That way, you won't make yourself crazy trying to figure out which of these solutions worked and it will make it easier to pinpoint what exactly is causing this rash. Hope this helps.

That is a big problem with children where I live (CO). I'm sure, since you've been to specialist, that you are using the best creams possible. The only other thing I can suggest is a cool-mist humidifier. That will help to keep moisture in the air and help her out. Good luck!

She is probably allergic to something your feeding her. Take her to an allergist. Or could be the diapers, or your bath soap, or laundry soap. An allergist would narrow it down. I dont know what kind of doctors your taking her to, but someone should of suggested this to you. Good Luck.

She is probably allergic to something. It could be the detergent you are using, the formula or even breast milk. If you are nursing, she could be allergic to something you are eating and in turn it is coming out in your breast milk. I would suggest visiting a holistic nutritionist. My holistic nutritionist was able to find out more about my problem than my regular doctor and was able to give me solutions that worked. Find out what she is allergic to and you will be able to help her.
