you have to be found with the goods on ya..someone put something in my bag once and i honestly had no idea...even though you could see my so called 'mate' putting stuff in my bag whilst i was not looking they still prosecuted me and not him...he was a naughty boy...he got his karma tho...it comes around...so no...cctv ALONE is not enough...x

It used to be that cctv evidence was not acceptable.

Thats not the case anymore in the UK.

BTW : To be prosecuted for shoplifting then they must demonstrate you left the shop without paying for the items. The fact that you took items off a shelf and placed them in your pocket is not shoplifting.
