I don't think chelsea is spending money on players that are useless or past. For example, players like Ballack and Shevchenko cannot be describe useless or past their career? Any keen football analyst knows that it takes some time for players to adjust when they move from one league to another. The above mentioned players were playing in the bundesliga and the serie A before moving to the Premier league. Last season for Essien was not really good but this season you can see he has really improved.
I hope you will not be dissappointed when these players start scoring.

Very good question becasue Chelsea have signed a lot of players that haven't necessarily been top top players & made them better players, i.e J Cole, Lampard, Robben, Duff, etc. Drogba & Essien nearly fall into this category as well. However, this season they have signed two of the biggest names in Europe with Shevchenko & Ballack. both players have hit their peak. Both players have won national tites. Shevchenko has won the champions league. There is only one way which is down for these two players. Same with Carvalho & Ferreira - they've won the league & champions league with Porto, but haven't done that much in England.

I assume you're referring to Ballack and Shevchenko who are both world class players. Before they went to Chelsea, any team in the world would have loved to have signed them. There's two reasons why they're not doing well:
1) They're in a new league that's different to what they were used to and need time to fit in.
2) Chelsea's system and way of playing doesn't suit them. Ballack and Lampard in midfield is like Gerrard and Lampard in the England team all over again.

I agree. The money spent on Shevchenko could have brought in 2 young great strikers which Chelsea needs. Letting Gallas go was a big mistake as well.

Chelsea not the only one and will not be the last one.
Take a look at Real Madrid, got Ronaldo after world cup 2002 and Beckham.
Even pay for Micheal Owen.
Had they field Owen?
Nah, just paid him the salary to enjoy Spain.

they think they are really rich & they can spend loads of money on players and if they ren't good, replace them.
they play with cash
they have no respect for their old players
selling away experienced players like gallas is seriously a bad move. and apparently, ballack & sheva are not making any impact at all
they

Sheva's past it for sure. The others are decent enough but don't seem to know how to work together as a unit.They.ve forgot how to plat the type of footie that won them the league 2 years in a row.
