Scientific reasons states that tears are the mineral liquids extracted from the chores of the eyes due to application of some forces i.e. when excessive smiling , crying etc.
But to be philosophical it means quite more than that.It describes some one's emotion and ofcourse affection.sometimes these tears plays a valuable role to express your emotions which you cannot express in words.

tears are liquid physiology a single drop of salty lfluid secreted by the lacrimal gland of the eye. this is a scientific definition. for me tears are those which are controlled by ones emotions. tears even come when something gets into your eyes. tears washes away those particles.
