A standard DVD+R is about 4.7gb. That should take 4-5 mins to finish at 16X speed but i take 60-65 min. Why?is there any problem with my hard disk rate ??

somewhat limited info but i'll take a stab at it....

Either you're using 2x discs (which means you either got them real cheap or bought them years ago) nonetheless lower rated discs will force the slow burn speed

or more likely your dvd burner needs a new driver. very likely if you purchesed a branded computer (dell, gateway) with a dvd burner included. Very possible the driver used in initial boot is way outdated.

plenty relies upon on your computer also, once you've a device with low ram and small buffer, the device will write the disk at a slower speed as your pc won't be able to deal with the swifter speed writing

no, its either the data language in the dvd or the rom itself. no prob with the hard drive. just because it says sixteen on the burner the encoder maynot allow it...try nero seven, it works faster for me.
