Either the person who used this analogy is a fool or all of the people answering your question are. A log floating down a river is actually a rather subtle thing: it makes no noise and is mostly submerged so it is not very visible. I think the confusion arises around the choice of a log, which in most any other circumstance would be associated with clumsiness or stupidity. The speaker really should have said something like "a feather floating down a river" if he wanted to imply subtlety or "a log in the living room" if he wanted to imply no subtlety.

logs don't float down a river in a subtle way
it means ur not subtle at all in fact the exact opposite

Well, a log kind of sticks out on the river, and you have all this water eddying and swirling around it, not subtle in the least

You aren't 'subtle' at all!!
A log in a river makes its present known by hitting boats, swimmers, whatever gets in the way - not a 'subtle' kind of thing.

It is a form of sarcasm.
People would be sarcastically saying that you are in no way
subtle at all.

Another subtlety jibe is: "As subtle as a blood-stained axe."
