Hey congrats..i too am just over eight weeks and am dying to tell everyone....I have two kids who i know will be so excited and its been pure hell keeping it from them but I decided to try and wait until 12 weeks because of there being less chance of a miscarriage after this point, but on the other hand, since us pregnant women dont get all our tests results back until way later, there could still be something wrong with the pregnancy after the 3 month wait is over so I am in two minds as to whether or not to tell people. I think the only scary factor is that If a miscarriage occurs you have to go back and tell all those people that you lost it, which I imagine would be horrific!! Think the descision has to be right for you hun, so goodluck in whatever you choose to do, and also with the rest of your pregnancy!! I'll be reading to see what everyone suggests you do, and it might help me make a descision too!!! xx

whenever you want, but what everyone else has said about most people waiting till a bit later is mostly true. I told my family before then, though i figured that if something did go wrong, i would need there support anyway!!

I dont, know what your situation is like with parents etc, but a nice way to tell the new grandparents ( especially if you know they will be thrilled) is to wrap up a little gift and give it to them to open and it can be from the bump!!
If you do decide not to tell until the scan send the grandparents a scan picture and a card saying "hi gran and?or Grandad just wanted to say hi and i can't wait to meet you!!!

or if your mum for instance knits, wrap up some knitting needles and a ball of yarn and write a little note saying "to Granma, i would love some new booties love from your new grandchild" (whatever words YOU would use!). Or maybe a little gift that says i love my gran....you know what i mean, sorry to waffle on, but i never did this sort of stuff and looking back it would have been so nice to see the faces of everyone!!

All the best with everything.

We waited only about 6 weeks before telling people. We then lost the baby on the 12 week scan day when there was no heart beat. We were pretty glad people knew, it would have been really hard to get through that on our own, so I dont see the point in not telling. Shout it out! Well done.

Everyone feels different about telling the world that they are pregnant. I waited until the 3 month mark, the told everyone that I cld. Its entirely up to you and if you are well in yourself then tell who you want now.

I am not sure how other people have answered this, but the majority of people I believe wld wait until the chance of misscarriage eases which is around the 13 week mark. Good Luck xx

Most people say to wait about 12 weeks before you tell people but I was far too excited. I told my two closest friends about 3 hours after I found out . Waited until I was 12 weeks before I told my employer/in-laws etc.

It's up to you. You could tell close friends and family, but might want to wait until 12 or 13 weeks to tell everyone. Most people wait because the risk of miscarriage drops after then, and if the whole world knows then you have to tell the whole world what's happened, rather than just telling people close to you.

A lot of people want to wait 3 months until the risks of miscarriage drop significantly. I couldn't wait, though. I told my family and friends at about 6 weeks with both my pregnancies.

people usually wait until the 12 week of pregnancy before they tell people, because that's when the biggest risk of miscarriage is over (i told a few close friends and family before thou) i know its hard to keep it secret, and time really seems to drag! and the tiredness tends to ware off after 12 weeks too, second trimester is definitely the best! Congrats! x

We told people very shortly after we found out.We were too excited not too! A good friend of mine had a miscarriage recently, and she said she was glad she told people she was pregnant earlier on because now she has a lot of support for what she is going through.

You can tell people when ever you like, but some people like to wait until 12 weeks in case something goes wrong with the pregnancy. CONGRATULATIONS.
