I really need some help, I know that neither me or my boyfriend has any sexually transmitted diseases before you say that. My boyfriends 'helmet has turned a purple colour and swollen, around the 'eye' at the top there is a bright red ring which is sore. His foreskin is fine until you pull it back and it is very red, like a red ring and blotchy. It is almost like little red blisters that are very sore to the touch. It gets worse after we have sex and even when we leave it until we think that it has gone and isnt swollen, red or sore anymore, we have sex and then it happens again. Please help, what could this be? And could it be treated? Help

I would rather leave the physical examination of you and your boyfriend and the diagnosis to your doctor rather be definite that you DO NOT have std..

I would be tempted to diagnose an inflammation + or - an infection.

Until you see a doctor he can use a cream where there is the combination of an antibiotic like Neomycin + an antiinflamatory agent Hydrocortisone.

If it does not resolve in 48 hrs and /or it keeps recurring let your doctor sort it out.

Best of Luck.

I know it is embarrassing but he should go see a doctor. If he hasn't been circumsized does he pull back the skin and clean it properly, maybe he has an infection due to not cleaning properly, it could also be something you use, a talcum powder or something he is alergic to. I'm sure that even a chemist would be able to recommend a cream he could use that would bring relief.

Sounds like a yeast (Thrush) infection to me. I would try some antifungal cream (Clotrimazole 1%) whilst at the same time making an appointment with you Dr to rule out STDs.

The Clotrimazole will work very quickly if it is a thrush infection.

Good luck

Sounds very much like thrush, you both need to be treated as you keep reinfecting him. What ever it is get treated ASAP or it could cause infertility.
