I guess you're exposing children to the harsh reality of society at a tender age. Nature is not fair. Even a baby will look at an attractive, symmetrical face for a longer amount of time than an unattractive face. Unfortunately, good-looking children get preferential treatment from the get-go. I think pageants only reinforce a child's feeling of being worthy based on their looks. I don't really agree with beauty pageants of any kind, But I am a bit of a left-wing extremist. I think that it is our job to rise above Nature and make life more fair and equal for all. To apply this to your question, I believe that these pageants are giving the naturally advantaged further advantages. If I had my way, everyone would have easy access to good plastic surgery to have a good chance in the world. It really does help - people with looks are proven to have better mental health.

Bad idea. My opinion is that parents usually play a huge role of convincing the child to be a part of the pageant in the first place and put alot of pressure on them. Its like theyre living their dream through their child.

Only in the child's atmosphere of playing dress up. Maybe dress up slumber party's where they play supermodel or fashion designer. Other than that it's a bad idea, I don't think it's a nice way of instilling confidence & winning values. And more importantly with a population full of child molesters, rapists, child porn freaks. Why would you take the chance of putting your child in the public spotlight to display all the features that monsters want? Not my kids!

Bad.

-Children do not need to look pretty.

-Why influence children so early by sending them to beauty paegeants where they learn to be a vainpot?

-Exposing them to such early limelight isn't beneficial for the child at all, they should study and get a decent job!!

-Sending them to such competitions will instill the idea of being overly aggressive into them, which is of course bad.

-I'm quite sure,at least 80% of the children who join the pageant will grow up to be unfilial kids.

Not a bad idea on the surface, but they seem to be "addictive" to the parents involved. Most of the families who participate are not wealthy and the cost is high. I think the result is unhealthy to the family.

Bad idea. It's a pedophiles playground. Yes the children are very pretty but it seems weird to me. Having them prance around like adults.
