5=3p/3+2 <=> 5-2=3p/3 then we cross out the 3's because there is one in the nominator and one in the denominator. 3= p <=> p=3

well actually i have two interpretations for ur problem

a.) 5= 3p/(3 + 2)
(5= 3p/5)5/3 multiplicative inverse
25/3 = p
or
8 1/3 = p changing improper to mixed no.
p = 8 1/3 symmetry

b.) 5 = (3p/3) + 2
5-2 = (3p/3) +2 -2 APE & additive inverse
3 = 3p/3 by division
3 = p
p = 3 symmetry

5=3p/3 +2=

u willl send the 2 to the side of the 5

5-2=3p/3

3=3p/3

then u will cancel the 3 of the p with the 3 under it

so it will be 3=p

5 = 3p/3 + 2

(divide the 3p by 3)

5 = p + 2

(subtract 2 from each side)

3 = p

p = 3
