what is the deal with the questions i see all around here

I know lots of ppl who were and still are hippies and they have good jobs and are productive ppl in sociaty.
i for one am a hippie and have a ba in business managment and am also going back to school for nursing.. Just because we did drugs way back we get a bad rep.. WE DONT CONDONE DRUGS NOW SINCE THEY ARE TO DANGEROUS THESE DAYS

It is not that we did drugs that make us hippies it is a way of life. NoT ALL OF US ARE LAZY and as a human population we all think work stinks
My question is how can you stigmatize hippies on what grounds

El, there's been nothing like us and there'll never be again. We are the best educated, productive, caring people ever. We really did change the world. "Old hippie" is a badge I'll wear proudly 'till the day I die 'Vii' As for the drugs, we did them all and there aren't any more LOL

you're right that no one should stigmatize or stereotype anyone

but i dont think it is correct to say that hippies don't condone drugs these days.

i know that not all hippies use drugs, but i think a lot of them still do.

mostly just pot, which really is not dangerous at all.

its less dangerous than tobacco and alcohol, anyhow

I was a Hippie "back in the day" and we stood up for causes. We protested Vietnam, the trashing of the environment, and things that we perceived as unjust. We did more than chase the almighty dollar. We had music that had meaning and a message, not the (c)rap they listen to today. I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Peace, love and rock and roll.
