I am 6 and a half months pregnant, and i want to find out, if I clean our house and I use Jik, and Domestos and all those heavy cleaning materials, is it bad for me and the baby, or can i use it without any worry. I get worried so quickly about everything, I'm even scared of sweeping and mopping the house, cause just now it hurts the babay. Am I paranoid?

i stayed away from heavy cleaning products like bleech, but i still moped my floors with pinoclean, i just made sure that the windows and doors were open and i wasnt cleaning in an enclosed space, its okay to be worried but i dont think you have any hassels in sweeping or mopping, you can use natural products to clean, a really good cleaning agent is bi-carb soda, i use it to clean my walls and sinks and all sorts round the house, its betta than any chemical on the market!

I am 7 months pregnant and I use Clorox Anywhere spray. It's supposed to be free of the harmful stuff. It isn't as powerful as some of the other cleaners I like, but that just means I need to scrub a little harder. You can also buy the "Method" brand of low-toxin cleaners at Target stores.
You should try to avoid the toxic chemicals while you're pregnant. I'm sure your baby is fine, but try to make the switch. As for being afraid of mopping and sweeping, why? Are you afraid of breathing something in or are you afraid of the physical activity? Just be careful not to "overdo" it, and you should be fine. Cleaning the house is actually a pretty good form of physical activity during pregnancy.

the truth is that it probably wont hurt the baby but u should start telling people that it will anyway, especially people like ur partner who may be expecting u to clean. that way u can sit back and relax and not have to worry about all that stuff.
if u are really worried ask the doctor though. better to be safe then sorry right? but most things would have a warning on the label or if they were really bad they wouldnt even be allowed on the market so dont stress

You should definitely avoid contact with such chemicals as much as possible. Don't use anything harsh such as oven cleaner. Use rubber gloves with all of them to reduce skin contact.
There are lots of natural plant based products on the market that you can buy, or just use baking soda, lemons etc. I'm sure if you search on the net you can find websites that give details of how to make natural cleaning products that you can make yourself. Proabably much cheaper than what you are using as well!

Harsh chemicals such as bleach in demestos etc can definately harm your baby. It can be absorbed via the skin or inhaled. Stop using it & switch to something easier on you & the environment. Ask at your local health food store or research on-line for alternatives.

Try using plain old vinegar. Someone told me this with my first preg, it disenfects and cleans everything to a sparkling shine and it's non toxic. Especially great in bathrooms.

Clean to your hearts content. As long as you aren't sniffing them you will be fine and it is natural for a woman about to become a mother to turn into a clean freak.

Do things slowly, and make sure you open windows to allow the fumes to escape - it is worse for you and your baby to have a unclean home (germs ./ bacteria) than it is for you to clean.
If you start feeling tired, pains, etc.. then stop and have a break

i sugesst you don't overdo yourself with housework. In case you accidently knock yourself on something. But you can do lighter jobs such as making beds and washing dishes.. as a pregnant women, you need enough rest and also enough movement. think about your baby.
