Cold hard reality is that tv is very fickle. When you think of how many shows make it past the first or second series - well there aren't that many.
I don't think it's specific to you or your taste. It's just inevitable.
As much as it saddens me to see the OC go at this stage (given the great improvement since the timely demise of Marissa), at least it is going out on a high note. There's nothing worse than loving a show and seeing it denigrate into crap because the producers are trying to squeeze every last ounce of life out of it - to the point it becomes nothing like the show that you first loved.

i know the feeling :) thank goodness my favorite show is still in reruns... i don't know what i am going to do when it goes off the air completely cause i can't afford to buy the seasons
