What do you mean by a lot? Did you try for over one year and during mid cycle?
If so, then you may need to take fertility pills or, have your significant other check his sperm count.
If you are unsure of when you are most fertile .....use the 'Internet ovulation calender' ......just do a goggle search ovulation calender. It will tell you the days that you are most fertile.
You can also judge when you ovulate by either checking your cervical mucus change/temperature or by using one of those over the counter ovulation detection gadgets. You can buy the ovulation detectors at your local pharmacy.

First lets look at some common myths
Kissing will not get you pregnant.
Holding hands with a boy will not get you pregnant
You can not get pregnant by giving a boy a hand job
Ok now lets look at technique.
Is your male partner (you do have a male partner right?) penetrating you in the right hole?
If your good on all this knowledge you need to see a fertility doctor.. not yahoo answer boards. We dont know you, what your like (ie your health habits) we dont know if your male partner wheres boxers or briefs or god forbid bikini underwear. We dont know if either of you smoke, drink, on medications etc... which all these things CAN effect your fertillity.. You and your husband (or whatever) need checked out.

Trying every second day, perhaps your partner has a lower sperm count. By trying every second day it will give the sperm some time to regenerate itself. IF this does not work try every week. Or else consult your doctor. Good luck!!!
