I felt like this when I was pregnant, so I had my hormones checked which are OK. I'm not pregnant because I had my tubes done and my periods are irregular.

I also had my thyroid tested and I'm not on any meds except for steroid nasal spray which sort of helps. I don't have polyps but a very dry and congested nose which often feels hot. I also had an allergy test which was OK. I do however get itchy skin which looks like red bites or may be hives.

Sounds like you are becoming perimenopausel. Hormones ahift and nasal congestion is affected by hormones. You could be much further into it even when hormones still show up as being normal. There is a very specific time of month to check the for accuracy. But at 46, I'd go with peri. I'mm 45 this year and have had the same problem.

Did you have your thyroid checked? Are you taking any sort of meds for cholesterol? Do you feel achy or hurt all over? Is your hair falling out? Is your skin dry and itchy?
If so... stop taking the cholesterol meds.... and specifically ask for a thyroid panel test. If they wont do it... go to another doctor.

You may just have sinus problems. Sometimes they can do surgery to correct this and open up the sinus cavity. When my daughter was 2, she had to have this done b/c she couldn't even breathe through her nose! Go to a specialist and they should be able to tell you what you can do.
