You don't have to buy prescription eyeglasses, you can wear ones with just a plain lense. Definitely DON'T wear prescription ones if you don't need them, they will hurt your eyes and worsen them. But you can easily buy glasses for fashion, just don't get prescription lenses put in.

You can buy a frame at any store and get non prescription lenses put in them, but ...
1) They are not cheaper than lenses with prescriptions in them. When you're buying lenses, you're paying for the material and coating, not the prescription put in them.
2) You can't just buy the frames and use the display lenses that come with the frame. I know at our store we pop out those lenses and just give the customer the frames. Not only that but even if they did let you keep the display lenses, they usually have the brand logo or name on them, so you can't see out of them.
3) If you are around computers a lot, now that you have glasses, you may have a problem with glare off the screen, like someone mentioned before. You may want to invest in lenses with an anti-glare coating on them so the glare won't bother you. This would also help if you plan on driving at night with your glasses, because it would help with the glare from lights on the road.
4) Lastly, make sure you get your glasses at a place with a good return/ exchange policy. Especially since you say this is for fashion, you may end up changing your mind. I think places at the mall usually have good policies, just ask if you're not sure what it is.
Especially if you get the anti-glare lenses, there should be no problems with your vision. This can get pretty costly though. You will have to get an eye exam before getting the glasses to make sure you don't need a prescription (but hopefully your insurance will cover that). Hope this helps :)

There are no negative side effects from wearing glasses for fashion. There are actually benefits, as eyeglass lenses should block harmful UV rays.
You should have the optician place "plano" lenses (no power) in your frame in place of the stock demo lens. Even if the frame manufacturer's logo can be removed, these lenses are likely not optical quality and unsafe to wear in front of your eyes. True eyeglass lenses must meet safety standards with respect to breakage.

There are no side effects. Most opticians can put non prescription lenses in any eyeglass frame that they have for sale. Wearing these types of eyeglasses has become common lately-- many celebrities do it on television in order to look smarter and more sophisticated.

Well you can wear them for fashion, just get the frames that you like and have them put clear lenses in them!!! There is nothing wrong with wearing glasses for the fun of it, it is fashionable!!! Well some of them are ;)
That is so good that you have perfect vision! You know you can think of it as people do with sunglasses. Some wear them because they need to for driving or to protect their eyes which is great, and others wear them just for fashion, and others wear them for both reasons, so you can for sure go out and get eye glasses for fashion purposes only. I am sure the local D.O.C or PEARLE VISION or something will be more than happy to make them for you!!! Good luck, just go to the eye glass store and ask!!!
Good luck and hope you look stylin in your new glasses!!!

Any lens that is prescribed to correct vision when your vision is 20/20 can cause damage if worn for an extended period of time. You can however get lenses for a frame that are not prescription. Any optical can do it.

It is best you use glass instead of lens on the eyeglasses. If you use real lens (+/-), your ocular muscle will slow down and in time it will atrophy, because your eye will get used to be helped and not to do all the work.

so then get them to put plain lenses in or normal glass ones. i have perfect vision too but have an option of wearing glasses for things like reading and studying coz according to the doc helps prevent the eyes from straining and getting tired easily.
i suggest go to the 'doc' and tell them your plan, i did it and found out even though there wasnt anything wrong with my sight he recommended the glasses for the above mentioned.

Not if you buy clear glassed ones. You can get non prescription, purely fashion glasses from any place that sells glasses.
