who is the highest paid person in a team sport? (just by wages)?

according to this morning's news, beckham will be, but I think they may be a basketball player or american football.

they must be paid but team and exclude all endorsments / sponsership deals

the coach he gets paid much more as he is the leadr/../
he gets paid by the stadium, and the ministry of sports in what country he was originated
