How old do you have to be to buy/sell stock?

I am seventeen and i am interested in stocks. Please only answer if you have played the market and know the answer.

If you are going through a web sight you need to be 18, if you are going through a stock broker there is no age. i have had stocks starting at 12. there are many good companys around, i would suggest looking for a company called Dain Rauscher. It is owned by the Royal Bank Of Canada, but they were started in the US. they are the 10th largest in the nation. they have a branch in almost every state, my mom is the VP of the branch in Duluth MN.
