I watched Borat a couple of months ago.. enjoyed it, though to be honest, I didn't exactly split my sides laughing. Now, it appears about 75% of the "unwitting cast" are lining up to sue this character for "portraying them in such a way".
I think its laughable, especially regarding the drunken frat boys who claim they have been humiliated to the point where they're facing mental anguish, blah blah etc.. Now they're turning it round and calling themselves "Victims".. err.. Victims of what? You're own biggoted views?
I have no sympathy for some (Not all) of the cast members and I think they should quit jumping on the band wagon..

Anyone agree... disagree?? Its just my opinion....

I agree. They should just get a life. if they didn't do it in the first place, they wouldn't be in this situation now. would they? Dopey lot!

I don't think they should go as far as suing just because they didn't like being portrayed as they are - for a start they would have been aware of the camera and probably signed a release for the footage as TV and film companies have to do that to use any footage of members of the public - if they don't then like the way they came across perhaps they need to re-think their behaviour.

However, I am really not a fan of Sacha Baron-Cohen's type of humour which does rely on fooling people and making them look stupid - I have never found him, or that type of so-called humour, amusing. I think it's really base.

So, to sum up, I don't think they have the right to sue, but I would rather not see this kind of 'comedy' at all.

Oh yes, and I feel really sorry for Kazakhstan as a lot of people had undoubtedly never heard of the place, and I don't think anyone would want Borat as their first famous 'ambassador'

If 'Borat' led the people to believe that the show would portray one type of thing such as tourist info film, then changed it to a comedy sketch with the people as unwitting victims then I think they should sue the butt off him for his deceitfulness.
Screw him right into the ground.

I remember hearing the cast did sign pretty broad release form. Because of documents signed it looks like it'll be upheal battle for people suing Borat. I'm sure the production company's lawyers thought about potential law suits and drafted solid release form for people to sign away.

They have to sign a contract and a waver and all that to appear in the film, so they should have read what they were signing for before they were in the movie!

It's their own fault... I haven't seen the film yet but i will do soon... I think Sasha's well funny.

Tis the age we live in, nobody can take that they have been made a fool out of!I bet if this film had flopped nobody would be suing as there would be no money to have if they win!

Some one will probably sue now for being on a hidden camera show. Everybody wants money for nothing.
