Meditation and exploring the mind.
Research Psychonautics... fun fun fun

You never really NEED psychedelics (art or chemical) they are just shortcuts... never rely on anything external, use but not abuse.

Meditation.
If you sit in a comfortable position, maybe with soft music playing in the background, candles burning, and just relax. Let your mind wander. What also might help enhance the experience for you is burning incense or scented candles, such as lavender or rose. One caveat: make sure that the room is well-ventilated if you do burn any incense, as sometimes the smoke can affect your breathing and distract you from your "visions".

Sandalwood is said to drive the "evil spirits" away, but it also promotes relaxation, openness and grounding, and opens the "Third Eye".

Frankincense has a calming effect on the nervous system, allowing purity of thought and increasing awareness.

Lavender is said to be the "cureall" scent, but it also enhances mental relaxation to the point of sleep or semi-sleep. You are more likely to receive such "visions" in a hypnagogic state.
