Its like a musical
Its about a penguin that gets dropped on its head so to speak and can't sing like the rest of them so he has some form of brain damage that causes him to tap dance when he is happy or hears music. He goes on adventure to when the heart of his girl and later tries to save the other penguins when the food runs out.
I loved the movie

It's ok but not one of the better animated films I've seen. It's storyline is a bit disjointed in areas. I found I was getting tired looking at the same colours all the time, but then it is penguins in the arctic so I guess it's not going to have alot of variation. Having said that, it was well made and is good in that it tries to get over the implications of overfishing and global warming in a way that kids will be able to understand.

oh yeah i TRYED to go see it. I took my little girl (three years old) to see it with her older sister. she insisted on wearing her happy feet costume, we had been in the film about 15 mins when she got bored and RAN to the front of the cinema! All you could see was this little penguin sillouette bobbing up and down the bottom of the screen, when i finally crawled down the front to get her, she let out a blood curdling scream, and i had to take her out and try and BEG her to be good. She agreed, only to scream as soon as we went back in and sat down( she also threw her sweets all over the floor). I had had enough by then and we left, i carried the screaming penguin back to the car and drove home.
I HATE HAPPY STINKING FEET!!!!

My son and I loved it. He's into penguins and music, so it was perfect. I read a review that said something like, it's a "March of the Penguins" plus a love story plus an environmental/societal message all rolled into one, set to music in a halftime-show style. It's pretty accurate. So if musical grandeur and pretty screen stuff, cute animals, Robin Williams being himself (or his voice, anyway), and accept-everyone/take care of the environment messages are your cup of tea (they are ours, for better or worse), you'll be in heaven. If not, it could be a long show.

My 7 year old loved it. The music was fun ~ but I could have done without the political subtext: ridicule of organized religions, the evolutionary references, zoo-slamming, and the "humans-are-bad-animals-are-good" philosophy."

Yes it is good.
There is a very strong environmental message hidden (or not so hidden) behind it though
