What do you do?
And do you do it once in a while or every day?

Every once and awhile I have to go camping by myself and have at least a few days of solitude to collect my thoughts and really reconnect with who I really am. No TV, radio, books....music is ok but CD or MP3's only...no talk/commercials etc...

Every time I do this I either have a life changing revelation through a decision that I make or I come back very focused and capable to achieve what ever I need to.

It is so very seldom that I get a few days, much less a few hours, to really just focus on my thoughts. When I do it is very rewarding. I get a chance to clear out all the random little (and sometimes major) thoughts bouncing around in my head that I never really realized were there til they were taken care of.

The key is really really doing nothing but relax, walk, relax, eat, relax, sleep...you get the idea. NO AGENDAS. No plans. And no people. Just do what feels right at that moment.......

....I think I need to go camping.

Sometimes I need to de-stress everyday, and sometimes only need to like once a week.

I really like the ideas that the others have posted. In addition:

1. Try yoga. Yoga has been long used for centuries in helping relieve stress. Yoga helps limber your muscles, while helping your mind the focus and have relaxing thoughts.

2. Try Thai-Chi. This is another art that has been around for quite a long while, which helps keep your mind fresh, and body refreshed.

3. Meditation. Meditation is easy to learn while providing multiple mental and physical health benefits.

4. Deep breathing exercises. These exercises are wonderful as a first step in getting your thoughts in control. It’s best to first start out with 3 – 4 good, deep breaths.

5. Teas and herbs. Herbs that are known to elevate serotonin are recommended, however always check with your personal physician.

I know a hippie breathing exercise:

Lay on your back in a dark quiet room.

Slowly take ten deep breaths while focusing on your feet: try to breathe through your feet.

Then repeat that with your knees, hip, belly button, sternum, and between your eyes.

Make sure you breathe slowly and deeply. I only do this very rarely, but it is a great way to get rid of anxiety.

you could attempt replacing your bedtime basic. devour a mild meal at time for dinner then flow for a lengthy walk, late afternoon or early nighttime. when I nod off with the T.V. on - i do not sleep nicely. turn the T.V. off at evening and open a "solid" e book. Fill your recommendations with some non violent, uplifting studying and "effectual" recommendations. turn the pc off, too and placed on some high-quality, soothing song. also, you may attempt writing earlier bedtime - writing is amazingly healing! launch your rigidity with information from writing about it and letting it flow. you would possibly want to even write a letter to a chum or relative and allow them understand how a lot you want them. there is better "happiness in giving then there is in receiving." Doing something for others and helping them out - even in an uncomplicated way say with information from writing some encouraging words - might want to help you to de-rigidity! pleasant aims!
