counseling is what it implies.. u counsel others.. psychology can be counselors but they are more on the research side of psychology.. With psychology u must have at least a masters to use it.. not sure on counseling.. I know that is a master's degree in most schools but not sure on bachelors.

Studying Psychology only gives you the knowledge on human or animal behaviour, reactions etc while counselling trains you to help people by using knowledge acquired from relational techniques and borrows heavily on psychological theories. The latter equips you to be able to assist a person solve his/her own problem while the former gives you the theoretical knowledge on human and animal behaviour and relationships but does not equip with you the skills to be in a helping relationship.
