I'll explain my question more:

As anyone who is on the pill knows, St Johns Wart is listed on the info sheet as a medication that you shouldn't take while you are on the pill as it could make it less effective. I was wondering if anyone knew of something simular which doesn't effect the pill in anyway?

I don't take St Johns Wart. I know that it messes with the pill, that's why. I'm looking for something like it, which wont effect the pill.

St. John's wort is from the hypericaceae family and is also known as hypericum. It interferes with the activity of a chemical known as monoamine oxidase. MAO inhibiters are used as antidepressants, but they can react to many foods and drugs. anything fermented or aged, cheese, beer, should be avoided. And anything that contains tryptophan, and tyrosine .

I take a product called Stress Relief Complex it works for me but I am not on the pill I am going through menopause. It could be the pill your on that is causing the problem. Not everyone can take the pill. If you want to research this product go to shaklee.com or shaklee.ca. Always check with your doctor first.

if you are taking st john's for depression or anxiety then you have other natural options that don't commonly react with the pill (but obviously check with a doctor/pharmacist/naturopath first) - lemonbalm & passionflower, SAMe, tyrosine, fish oil and B vitamins are all possibilities.

I would for SURE contact your doctor or a Pharmacist before combining them...it may decrease the effect of your BC
