Buy a van and go self-employed as a removal business, get to work your own hours around your children. You can employ your wife as your secretary for taking messages and arranging appointments and claim her income against your tax. Use of house as office too can be claimed for. Go to Job Centre you may qualify for help with a small new business loan. Go for it you've nothing to lose.

Hello,

(ANS) I would think that with x4 kids you need a job that gives you some flexibilty of hours or time, so you get to see and be with your kids at some stage in the week.

**Think in terms of work that requires little or no supervision as lorry drivers have to be able to work alone most of time (I know been a driver myself for a while).

**There are lots of computer or IT related jobs that enable you to work alone or with minimal supervision. Even work that might enable you to work part of the week from home?

**If you love the outdoors then there are lots of jobs in Landscaping or Gardening or garden designing that might be of interest.

**Changing careers involves thinking about what skills & experience (inc life experience) & knowledge you have now, & how those things might benefit a new employer or in a new job. Think about what you might have to learn ontop of your present skills, what other personal qualities or talents do you have?

**Think about the practicalities too such as how far are you willing to travel each day to go too your work? etc and the costs too and the time that involves.

What about some sort of fleet control work? Organising loads etc. You'd be home every night but still be doing what you know so you'd be feeling comfortable. It's an office job, but it's still in the same industry. If not, what about driving for a road construction company or something. Still driving, but you'd be home every night and it's good pay with not too much work... Good luck!

Gareth,

Have you considered a career in network marketing, due to the flexible working hours it offers? If you'd like a free DVD that explains the UK business I've been in since December 2003, just email me. No obligation, no catch, no con.

Regards,

John Galvin.

How about some kind of forestry work or gardening? You could go to college part time & get some help with the childcare costs and you could do gardens part time.
